The Assistant Preschool Teacher
- Avondale works alongside our Lead Preschool Teacher to create a warm, structured, and engaging learning environment for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 at our Avondale campus. This role is built for someone who brings dependability, warmth, and genuine curiosity about early childhood education.
- Assist the Lead Preschool Teacher in implementing Creative Curriculum lesson plans and learning activities at Avondale
- Support instruction across literacy, math, science, social studies, and creative arts for Avondale preschoolers
- Help facilitate smooth transitions, outdoor play, mealtimes, and daily rest
- Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally rich classroom following Ohio DCY and Gold standards
- Assist with documentation of children's learning and daily routines as directed by Lead Teacher
- Build positive, consistent relationships with Avondale preschoolers and their families
- Model and reinforce positive behavior expectations throughout the classroom day
- Follow all Water Lily Learning Center, DCY, and Step Up to Quality Gold policies and safety procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework, CDA, or Associate degree preferred
- Prior experience in a licensed preschool, childcare, or early education setting preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children
- Knowledge of preschool child development and positive strategies for working with young children
- Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to consistent attendance
- Ability to engage actively in a classroom setting throughout the full shift including floor-level interaction
- Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- $14-$17/hr based on experience and qualifications
