ACCEL Schools is seeking a SPED Instructional Aide for Riverside Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio for the upcoming  school year.

Riverside Academy is a public charter school serving EK-8th grade students with a hands‑on, social‑emotional learning approach. The school is part of ACCEL Schools, a network of public charter schools serving K‑12 students across the United States.

The Instructional Aide assists the Teacher with classroom activities, promotes positive student behaviors, ensures student safety, and supports the School Leader and Teachers in carrying out duties in accordance with ACCEL Schools’ philosophy, policies, state laws, and the Board’s mandates.

• Supports lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups, following the instructional plans assigned by the Teacher or School Leader.
• Assists the teacher with materials, classroom technology, and the organization of student and parent relations.
• Participates in school activities such as parent‑faculty nights, faculty meetings, assemblies, commencement exercises, fundraisers, chaperoning, and other events.
• Performs clerical duties, including grading papers, making copies, and other documentation.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom, and other school areas.
• Adheres to and implements the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all activities.
• Assists with additional duties such as field trips, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty.

• Works cooperatively with the teacher and school staff.
• Follows directives from the Administrator and teacher.
• Contributes to a positive climate and culture by maintaining high professional standards.

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or passing the paraprofessional exam.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Successful completion of a BCI/FBI background check.
• Ability to meet educational standards applicable to the position.
• Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
• Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus.

Compensation:
Starting hourly rate of $16.25/hour (may vary with experience, education, and other factors).
