Training Instructor / Specialist, Adult & Continuing Education
This position is responsible for working with management to organize, facilitate training programs, and document trainee output. The incumbent evaluates training effectiveness, identifies potential training gaps for classroom and/or e-learning programs, and collaborates with management in developing learning programs accordingly.
This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.
What you do- Leads department's new hire training program by delivering new classroom training.
- Analyze training program gaps and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Coach trainees on their progress and develop performance improvement goals.
- Participate in the planning timeline process for new hire classes.
- Develop training material, training aids, and training binders.
- Monitor existing and emerging learning technology and trends.
- Utilize adult learning principles and techniques to optimize results.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 1-3 years of related experience required.
- Insurance industry experience required.
- Experience with Disability Income (DI) and Life Insurance products and new business processes preferred.
- Experience in training, facilitation, instructional design, or learning and development preferred.
- Experience conducting audits of associate performance, call handling, work items, and process adherence to identify knowledge gaps, training opportunities, and areas for operational improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to coach associates and business partners through constructive feedback, skill development, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ability to build structured learning pathways that incorporate instructor-led training, self-study, job aids, hands‑on practice, coaching, and performance support tools to support varying learning styles and business objectives.
- Experience developing modular, self‑guided, blended, or asynchronous training content utilizing adult learning principles and instructional design best practices is preferred.
