Art Instructor (Part-Time) – Adults With Idd Impact Innovation | University Of Cincinnati – Idd Education Center

Schedule:

8–10 hours/week (based on class schedule)

Impact Innovation is seeking a creative, compassionate, and flexible art instructor to lead engaging, inclusive art experiences for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (idd). Position Overview

The art instructor will design and facilitate hands-on art classes that support creativity, self-expression, skill-building, and confidence. Classes are designed to be accessible to a wide range of abilities and interests, while fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning environment. This role works closely with impact staff to ensure programming aligns with participant needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead weekly art classes tailored to diverse learning styles and ability levels
• Adapt lessons to ensure accessibility and meaningful participation for all associates
• Encourage creativity, independence, and self-expression through a variety of media (painting, drawing, mixed media, etc.)
• Support development of fine motor, communication, and social skills through art
• Collaborate closely with impact staff to support participant success
• Prepare materials and maintain a safe, organized classroom environment
• Provide positive, constructive feedback and celebrate participant achievements

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or ged
• Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school. Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
