Upper School Geometry Teacher (Maternity Leave)

Cincinnati Country Day School is seeking applicants for a full-time maternity leave replacement from October 1, 2026 to December 18, 2026, teaching four sections of Geometry to ninth grade students. The math curriculum is focused on helping students to:

• Develop a deep mathematical understanding of why mathematical ideas work and how they connect across topics such as algebra, geometry, functions, and modeling.
• Cultivate reasoning, sense-making, and the ability to justify solutions.
• Build procedural fluency and apply mathematics to real-world situations.
• Master the six major conceptual areas of math (number & quantity, algebra, functions, modeling, geometry, and statistics & probability) to prepare students for college mathematics, technical fields, and informed citizenship.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in math or related field
• Enthusiasm for teaching, experience with high school-age students, and a willingness to explore new methodologies and technologies for instruction
• Computer literacy and proficiency, experience with technology in the classroom, and ability to effectively utilize a learning management system

Teaching Expectations:

• Teaching four sections of geometry (two sections of College Prep Geometry and two sections Honors Geometry).
• Providing academic support for students outside of class time during office hours.
• Collaborating and participating actively in the work of the math department on best practices in curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment.
