Overview:

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, through its College Access Programs (CAP) Department, provides multiple services that assist prospective and current college students in achieving their academic goals. From secondary school students to first generation college students, the College's access programs build awareness of and deliver resources that have supported the higher education aspirations of hundreds of college students in the region.

CAP

programs include:

Two (2) U.S. Department of Education TRIO grants:

  • Traditional Upward Bound (TUB), serving Mt. Healthy High School (Funded *)
  • Student Support Services (SSS), serving first generation students enrolled at Cincinnati State (Funded *)

* Funding is contingent on meeting annual performance outcomes*

The Director of College Access Programs serves as the project director of all TRiO grant projects and oversees all programming, charged with the delivery of specific program services, both on the College's Clifton campus, and throughout the community. The Director and Manager of Student Support Services are responsible for ensuring compliance with all grant requirements, successful completion of all performance outcomes, data collection, and reporting.

  • Responsibility for the successful day- to-day operations of CAP operations, including programming, financial accountability, and reporting.
  • Responsible for financial management, reporting and documentation related to the expenditure of grant and college funds supporting all activities.
  • Program development, execution and ongoing evaluation of grant priorities, strategies and outcomes.
  • Interface and communication with the internal strategic partners to include the College's division resources and supporting departments; external partners such as community- based organizations; and overall marketing, outreach and collaboration within the service areas.
  • Records administration and organization to include developing policies and procedures to capture and record data, data integrity, annual program performance reviews and reporting.
  • Problem solving, resource deployment and/or troubleshooting barriers and issues related to grant implementation, partners, grant vendors, participants and/or other stakeholders.
  • Monthly evidence-based progress reports, and other quantitative and qualitative data that may be requested and/or will contribute to continuous quality improvement of the project and its impact on student success and grant outcomes.
  • Participation in and representation of the College in meetings, conference calls, site visits as required.
  • Integrate and ensure CAP contributions in support of the College's Student Success and Completion Plan, the Cincinnati State Strategic Plan, and continuous improvement efforts associated with Higher Learning Commission accreditation requirements.
  • Disseminate ongoing education and information of project progress, results, best practices and key learnings of CAP projects and impacts on student success.
  • Assist in developing protocols and policies to increase quality, timeliness and effectiveness in responding to student needs, including assisting students with action-planning for success, managing referred student concerns and issues, and data collection.
  • Effective management of and ongoing professional development of personnel.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree in a relevant discipline
  • At least three (3) years of experience in managing a grant-funded project or program, including budgeting, and performance outcome reporting
  • At least three (3) years of experience in higher education
  • At least three (3) years of experience hiring, supervising and developing personnel
  • Exceptional proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs, with significant experience working with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience in data base and case management systems to include data entry and aggregating data for reporting purposes.
