About the OpportunityAs an Intervention Specialist, you will support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You will work closely with general education teachers, school leaders, families, and support staff to provide individualized instruction and ensure students receive the services and accommodations they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with IEPs in accordance with their individual goals and service plans.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support students in inclusive classroom settings.
- Modify curriculum, assignments, assessments, and instructional strategies based on individual student needs.
- Develop, facilitate, and implement IEPs, including measurable goals and objectives.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain accurate special education documentation.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), as needed.
- Utilize research-based instructional practices and interventions to support student achievement.
- Monitor student progress and use data to adjust instruction and interventions.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students and serve as an advocate for their individual needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues in a growth-focused environment that includes coaching, feedback, and progress monitoring.
- Participate in school activities, events, field trips, and other student-focused initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will possess one of the following:
- A valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License; or
- An Ohio Unlimited Substitute License; or
- A bachelor's degree in Education with eligibility and willingness to pursue appropriate licensure.
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards and applicable academic standards.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and implement accommodations and modifications based on student needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative school team.
- Comfortable working in a coaching-focused environment with regular observations, feedback, action planning, and progress monitoring.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
- Experience working with students and families from diverse backgrounds preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete required federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
The salary range for this position is $47,500–$55,000 annually. Starting salary within the range is based on factors including experience, education, qualifications, skills, and market considerations.
