About the OpportunityDaily Substitute Teachers provide classroom coverage when regular teachers are absent and help ensure students continue to have a productive and positive school day.
Responsibilities- Follow teacher-provided lesson plans and deliver classroom instruction.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and productive classroom environment.
- Provide students with guidance and support throughout the school day.
- Manage classroom routines and student behavior in accordance with school expectations.
- Supervise students in classrooms and other areas of the school, including hallways, cafeteria, playground, and arrival or dismissal.
- Utilize school-approved curriculum and instructional materials.
- Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other school team members.
- Follow school policies, procedures, and daily schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
We are looking for individuals who are dependable, flexible, and comfortable stepping into different classroom environments while providing students with consistency and support.
Qualified candidates will:
- Hold or be eligible to obtain an Ohio Substitute Teaching License.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Be dependable, professional, and adaptable to changing classroom needs.
- Maintain confidential student and school information appropriately.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a school team.
- Successfully complete required federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
- Have previous experience working with children or students preferred, but not required.
This position is paid at a daily rate of $130 per day.
