Adjunct Instructor, Statistics

The University of Cincinnati seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Statistics in the Education, Training & E-Learning department at UC Blue Ash College. This role involves teaching undergraduate statistics courses, developing and delivering engaging curriculum, assessing student learning, and holding regular office hours. The successful candidate will employ inclusive, student-centered teaching practices and collaborate with faculty and staff in a diverse, innovative academic community.

A master's degree in statistics or a closely related field and prior teaching or relevant professional experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate statistics courses for UC Blue Ash College in the Education, Training & E-Learning department, following University of Cincinnati academic policies and standards.
• Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, discussions, and learning activities in statistics in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats as assigned.
• Develop course materials, including syllabi, assignments, quizzes, projects, and examinations that align with learning outcomes and departmental guidelines.
• Use appropriate statistical software and technology to support instruction and help students apply statistical concepts to real-world data and problems.
• Assess student performance through graded work, provide timely and constructive feedback, and submit grades in accordance with university deadlines.
• Maintain regular, accessible office hours (in-person and/or virtual) to support students' understanding, address questions, and provide academic guidance.
• Incorporate inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices that support a diverse student body and foster an equitable learning environment.
• Collaborate with departmental faculty and staff to ensure course alignment, participate in required trainings or meetings, and contribute to continuous improvement of the curriculum.
• Stay current with developments in statistics education, teaching methodologies, and educational technologies to enhance student learning.
• Adhere to all University of Cincinnati policies, including those related to academic integrity, accessibility, and student conduct.
