Early Childhood Supervisor

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Supervisor to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Early Education Center. This is an exciting opportunity for an early childhood professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and make a meaningful impact on children, families, and the educators who support them.

The Early Childhood Supervisor provides leadership to our early education team while helping ensure children receive high-quality, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed care. This position oversees daily program operations, directly supervises Lead and Assistant Teachers, supports classroom quality, partners with families, and helps maintain compliance with Ohio licensing and Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) standards.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or early childhood education and experience verified at a CP Level 3.
  • Minimum of four years of experience working with children and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Previous experience providing staff supervision, mentoring, or leading projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood programming.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and respond effectively to changing program needs.
What You'll Do

Program Leadership & Child Support

  • Oversee the daily operations and programming of the Early Education Center.
  • Support the development and implementation of daily program schedules and activities.
  • Provide classroom coverage and support to maintain appropriate ratios and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Conduct program observations to ensure classroom practices and services are responsive to individual children's needs.
  • Utilize trauma-informed and relationship-based practices to promote children's social-emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to strengthen children's social-emotional skills and overall development.

Family Engagement

  • Build strong, positive relationships with children and families.
  • Engage families throughout the enrollment, intake, and program experience.
  • Coordinate referrals and connect families with additional resources and services when appropriate.
  • Plan and facilitate family engagement opportunities, including Parent Cafés.
  • Respond professionally and compassionately to family questions, concerns, and needs.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Support the Program Manager in maintaining compliance with Ohio licensing requirements and Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) standards.
  • Assist with preparation for licensing, accreditation, and program reviews.
  • Participate in program audits and quality assurance activities.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Attend required ODJFS trainings, professional conferences, and agency training.
  • Maintain required professional credentials and Child Care Administrator requirements.
  • Implement trauma-informed practices and strategies that promote children's social-emotional competence.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Provide formal weekly supervision to Lead and Assistant Teachers.
  • Support staff in their daily practice, professional development, and career growth.
  • Promote staff engagement, job satisfaction, productivity, and accountability.
  • Serve as a resource to staff and management regarding policies, procedures, and classroom practices.
  • Use classroom observation and quality tools to identify professional development opportunities.
  • Model effective communication and relationship-building practices with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Administration & Program Operations

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of program documentation and child/family records.
  • Support enrollment, intake, and transition processes.
  • Manage program waitlists, enrollments, and transitions in and out of the program.
  • Assist with program reporting and administrative requirements.
  • Support program outreach and recruitment activities.
  • Understand and support programmatic and fiscal goals.
  • Ensure program spaces, materials, and resources are maintained appropriately.

Collaboration & Community Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Early Childhood and School Age staff and other Best Point programs.
  • Participate in assessment, progress, and team meetings.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Represent Best Point professionally within the community and with families.
  • Promote strong communication, teamwork, and accountability across the program.
