The After-School Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our Preprimary program. This position primarily supports children during the transition from the regular school day into our after-school program.

The Assistant Teacher will help create a positive and peaceful afternoon experience for children by supporting end-of-day routines, snack, outdoor play, classroom activities, and other afternoon experiences.

The After-School Assistant Teacher will help support the school’s extended day (X-Day) program. This position is part time position. The hours are from 2:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday and the pay is $20 per hour.

• Experience working with young children preferred.
• High School Diploma is required.

This position is especially well suited for a college student or education student looking to pick up a few hours each afternoon while gaining valuable hands-on teaching experience.

Previous classroom experience is helpful but not required. A genuine interest in working with children, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude are most important.

This position provides an opportunity to build practical experience working with young children in a Montessori school while developing skills in classroom management, child development, communication, and supporting children's independence.
