The College of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Neurobiology is recruiting a Research Instructor with the potential to hire a Research Assistant Professor. A Research Instructor/Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati is expected to teach, have interest in productive scholarship and willingness to collaborate with students and faculty for the betterment of the University, conduct research, scholarly and other professional activities.

This position will support the University of Cincinnati's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

• Conduct original research that advances the discipline, including designing studies, collecting/analyzing data, and producing scholarly outputs.
• Publish in peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, and contribute to the broader scholarly community.
• Prepare and submit grant proposals to secure external funding; manage awarded grants, budgets, compliance, and reporting.
• Supervise research personnel, including graduate students, undergraduate research assistants, and postdoctoral scholars.
• Maintain an active, independent research agenda aligned with departmental priorities and disciplinary standards.
• Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned courses (undergraduate or graduate), including lectures, labs, seminars, or independent study supervision.
• Prepare course materials, syllabi, assessments, and learning activities aligned with current disciplinary knowledge.
• Assess student performance using appropriate methods and provide timely feedback.
• Hold office hours and advise students, including mentoring research students and guiding academic/career development.
• Supervise theses, dissertations, or capstone research, depending on departmental needs.
• Participate in departmental committees, faculty meetings, and academic governance.
• Contribute to curriculum development, program review, or accreditation activities when relevant.
• Provide disciplinary expertise through peer review of manuscripts, grant proposals, or conference organization.
