Assistant Professor of Instruction, Accountancy

The Williams College of Business at Xavier University invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position in the Department of Accountancy and Business Law beginning fall 2027. The Williams College of Business is AACSB accredited. The Assistant Professor of Instruction position is renewable on a yearly basis, with the potential after six years for promotion to Associate Professor of Instruction with a rolling two-year renewable contract. The candidate must be committed to providing quality teaching and to maintaining an active and sustained connection to their field through professional engagement, scholarly activity, or a combination of the two.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear plan for continued professional and/or scholarly engagement that supports currency in their discipline, informs their teaching, and contributes to their ongoing faculty qualifications.
** Duties:
** Faculty members at Xavier are expected to teach in both undergraduate and master’s programs (MBA and/or MS in Accountancy) in live and on-line formats. The successful candidate will be able to teach both introductory courses, financial and managerial accounting, as well as an additional course in the major (e.g., Tax, Accounting Information Systems, Intermediate / Advanced Financial, Audit, etc.). In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be willing to serve as a faculty advisor for Accounting Society, which provides students with opportunities for professional development and leadership.

Other duties include service and participation in the life of the Department and University consistent with the mission of Jesuit higher education, and professional development activities on and off campus. Teaching load is four courses per semester.

* Required Qualifications:

** Applicants for this non-tenure track faculty position must have at least a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in accounting-related course work. Strong candidates will have compelling evidence of teaching effectiveness, relevant professional work experience, and an established or developing record of professional engagement and/or scholarly activity. Current professional certification (CPA or similar) is strongly preferred. All areas of teaching interest will be considered.
