Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

This role focuses on medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution, medium‑voltage shredder motor systems, and electrical safety compliance, working under the guidance of senior engineers while gaining increasing ownership of systems, projects, and site support responsibilities.
This position supports multiple recycling facilities and requires regular travel.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Electrical Compliance

Demonstrate strong personal safety leadership and uphold Nucor's safety culture at all times.
Support arc flash studies, electrical hazard assessments, and NFPA 70E/70B compliance efforts.
Assist in developing engineered solutions to reduce electrical risk and improve personnel safety.
Ensure electrical work and designs align with OSHA, NEC, and company electrical standards.

Power Distribution Systems

Support the design, evaluation, and troubleshooting of low‑ and medium‑voltage power systems (480V through 15kV).
Assist with power system studies including load flow, short‑circuit, coordination, and arc flash.
Troubleshoot plant power issues including voltage drop, nuisance tripping, equipment failures, and reliability concerns.
Review electrical one‑lines and schematics and assist with maintaining documentation accuracy.
