Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Project Manager for our Cincinnati office to be part of our water/wastewater treatment team.

- Develop technical treatment strategies, select treatment processes, develop process design criteria, and deliver projects.
- Direct coordination and collaboration with clients.
- Coordinate with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
- Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objective.
- Plan, design, permit, and construct water and wastewater-related projects.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs.
- Perform project management, prepare assessment and design reports, calculate design dimensions, size equipment, prepare construction documents, and support construction management/commissioning.
- Supervise junior staff and assist in their career development, providing opportunities for growth.
- Conduct fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction; occasional travel may be required.
- Lead business development activities, including proposal preparation and presentations.
- Advance client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by local office and firm-wide resources.
- Lead pursuit activities: pre-positioning, proposal development, scope, schedule, and budget development, and project interviews for water and wastewater projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
- A current PE license (Ohio preferred or ability to obtain within six months of employment).
- 10+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater-related infrastructure, including project management (planning, design, and construction).
- Experience successfully delivering multi-year projects in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in all MS Office-based software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Self-starter with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical people.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in civil or environmental engineering.
- Experience managing projects with fees of $10M or more.
- Experience negotiating multiple contracts with clients.
- Experience recruiting staff.
- Leadership roles in professional societies.
- Familiarity with CADD, GIS, Revit, and other engineering software.
