Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Judge Direct Placement is seeking a LOCAL Instrumentation and Control Engineer in Cincinnati, OH area! This role will work closely with clients to understand project requirements and ensure successful delivery of engineering solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all discipline-related aspects of projects from initial planning through full execution.
• Develop, define, and document detailed scopes of work.
• Size and specify instrumentation such as pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, modulating control valves, regulators, on/off valves, and actuators.
• Prepare datasheets and collaborate with vendors to obtain quotations for instrumentation and valve packages.
• Work closely with the process engineering team to ensure proper device selection for each application.
• Produce schematics, termination drawings, and loop sheets for instrument wiring.
• Design custom control panels tailored to project requirements.
• Interpret project success criteria and ensure all client expectations are consistently met.
• Develop, manage, and track project budgets and cost performance.
• Identify, document, and communicate scope changes in a timely manner.
• Address client issues proactively and provide responsive, solutions‑focused support.
• Deliver clear value to clients and build long‑term trust through reliable performance.
• Review, coordinate, and manage all project deliverables for quality and completeness.
• Supervise project implementation, monitor progress and quality, and maintain control of project costs.

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience
• Experienced Instrumentation engineer on major capital projects from the study phase, detailed design, construction support, check out and start-up.
• Oversees project execution to ensure completion and client satisfaction
• Demonstrated experience in driving projects within budget from initiation through a successful and timely conclusion
• Knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed engineering process
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships
