Sr. Tech Program Manager – Manufacturing Operation

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, supporting every data center, server, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment required to keep the cloud running.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver the AWS roadmap and achieve manufacturing operation readiness for new product releases.
- Support continuous product development and lead productivity and quality improvements with global manufacturing partners.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert in server, network, and storage rack integration manufacturing and testing.
- Lead manufacturing process development and capability enablement, covering infrastructure, assembly, test, and automation.
- Apply manufacturing engineering and quality management expertise to develop risk mitigation plans for new product introductions (NPI).
- Define rack integration strategy to achieve the most efficient and cost‑effective operation and supply‑chain setup.
- Contribute design‑for‑manufacturability (DFx) input to improve manufacturability, quality, serviceability, and cost.
- Manage day‑to‑day manufacturing engineering issues to keep production up and running.
- Own change management and drive manufacturing operation readiness to implement engineering changes.
- Resolve manufacturing‑impacting issues—design, process, testing, or supplier quality—by rolling up sleeves and acting as a do‑er.
- Perform hands‑on tasks such as BOM review, ECO/RCO, failure analysis, and provide manufacturing engineering solutions.
The team consists of software, hardware, and network engineers; supply chain specialists, security experts; operations managers; and other vital roles. They collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost for customers, while fostering an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
- 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
- 5+ years of experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
- Experience defining and tracking KPIs/SLA’s used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900 per year in the lowest geographic market to $231,400 per year in the highest geographic market. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may also be provided.
