- Convert business or operational requirements into clear mechanical specifications and engineered designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, sourcing, manufacturing, and launch teams to support successful product delivery.
- Apply design-for-manufacturing, assembly, installation, and serviceability principles to improve scalability and lifecycle performance.
- Evaluate third-party and OEM mechanical components and recommend integration or redesign as needed.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and performance validation; analyze results and recommend design improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings, specifications, and test plans.
- Participate in data-driven design reviews and communicate technical trade-offs.
- Identify technical risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies in automation, robotics, and industrial mechanical systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical product development, capital equipment design, or industrial systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience designing and validating mechanical assemblies or subsystems.
- Experience collaborating with OEM vendors, fabricators, or external engineering partners.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with moderate direction.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.
- Experience with material handling equipment, industrial automation, or machinery design.
- Familiarity with conveyors, sortation equipment, or robotic/mechatronic integrations.
- Working knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulatory considerations.
- Solid analytical and mechanical problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with CAD and mechanical design tools.
- Strong attention to detail with emphasis on safety and reliability.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
- Practical engineering judgment and data-supported decision making.
- Proactive approach to issue identification and resolution.
- Contribute technical input to design standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers or technicians on projects as experience grows.
- Participate in long-term product and technology planning discussions.
- Expand ownership of larger subsystems or full equipment designs over time.
Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement savings options, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
