Overview
ALPS Inspection designs and manufactures innovative leak detection and inspection solutions for the plastic container industry. Responsibilities- Install, set up, test, repair, and maintain ALPS-manufactured equipment and associated vendor equipment.
- Perform service and support on existing customer equipment in the field and provide in-house support for products and projects under development or in production.
- Assist with machine runoffs, system debugging, and equipment validation.
- Verify equipment operation and performance meets manufacturing specifications.
- Recommend improvements to customers to enhance equipment operation and performance.
- Communicate with the Service Coordinator to ensure proper scheduling and support.
- Identify required parts, tools, and supplies and arrange shipments as needed.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining service department records and inventory accuracy.
- Provide on-site and technical support for sales efforts, including assisting with service contract sales, maintenance agreements, and service quotations.
- Support local sales representatives as approved.
- Assist with formal training classes and provide informal customer and internal training as needed.
- Recommend product improvements and modifications to the Engineering Department.
- Assist in the development and implementation of approved engineering changes.
- Maintain a proper inventory of tools and equipment required to perform job duties.
- Make efficient travel arrangements to customer sites as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree (two-year technical degree) in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of related field service, technical, or equipment support experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 80%+, including overnight stays.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods while inspecting or servicing equipment.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to perform close visual inspection and color differentiation.
- Demonstrated motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, verbal reasoning, and basic numerical skills.
