Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Supplier Recovery Engineer for a three month contract job with possible continued extensions with a client in Burbank, CA or Cincinnati, OH. You shall serve as the primary on-site representative for the Company at various delinquent supplier locations across North America. The objective is to stabilize industrial processes, secure production transparency, and execute recovery initiatives that align supplier output with the company’s operational requirements.
Responsibilities- Root Cause Analysis & Diagnosis:
Conduct deep-dive assessments using industry-standard tools (8D, Pareto, VSM) to identify bottlenecks and systemic failures within supplier operations. - Get Well Plan Development:
Negotiate and validate formal recovery plans. These plans must be credible, time-bound, and include specific milestones for backlog reduction. - WIP Visibility & Monitoring:
Implement tracking mechanisms to provide real-time visibility into Work in Progress (WIP). Ensure supplier commitments are backed by physical inventory and production evidence. - Industrial Stabilization:
Adapt supplier capabilities to meet company’s technical and volume expectations. This includes driving corrective actions to sustain production rates and mitigate future risks. - Executive Reporting:
Provide structured performance updates and risk assessments to both Company General Management and supplier leadership to ensure accountability. - When not deployed to supplier sites, the Engineer will operate out of the Cincinnati, Ohio office.
- The Engineer must collaborate cross-functionally with Company Purchasing, Procurement, New Product Introduction (NPI), Quality, and Supplier Performance Management teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Seven to eight years of experience required in aviation engines and engine components.
- Travel:
This position requires high mobility, with a travel requirement of approximately 80%, primarily within North America. - Mastery of industrial engineering tools (Value Stream Mapping, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma).
- Ability to lead complex recovery projects under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence C-suite leadership at supplier organizations.
Pay Details: $55.00 to $70.00 per hour.
