Some specifics include:

  • The MRO Value Engineering group owns the effort to eliminate rework in the full repair network. This role is responsible for solving rework on an individual component, utilizing "best known way" to move quickly and make a sustainable impact. Each engineer will utilize FLIGHT DECK tools, including PSRs and action plans to systematically solve the rework issues.
  • Increasing the standardization of machining, including creation of a “playbook” for equipment selection, expanding the use of common zero-point fixtures and tooling, and increasing the usage of on-machine probing.

  • Executes special process auditing of GE MRO network based on the GE Aerospace 259.08 quality requirements. The team will participate in monthly audits around our global component repair network and ensure corrective actions are read across to the full network.
Other Responsibilities
  • Gaining awareness of latest machining technical developments, including offline programming, EDM/laser, and new equipment, and being one of the primary on-the-ground focal points to support implementation in the network.
  • Enabling flow lines in the ATMRO network, based on the “playbook” to reduce TAT.
  • Ensure that products and services perform according to quality standards and that manufacturing processes are capable and qualified.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
  • Communicate with and provide recommendations to management on technical, organizational, resource and personnel issues.
  • Collaborate effectively in a diverse, global, distributed work environment.
