Qualifications

  • HS Diploma with 20 years of experience OR Associate/Bachelors Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent with 10 years of experience
  • 10 years of professional safety experience
  • Experience in heavy civil industry (Most preferred) but chemical, oil refineries, water or building industries is also transferrable
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification, CSP ,ASP, or SMP

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Safety Manager to join a GC Construction Client in Cincinnati, OH. This construction client is a large general contracting, construction management, and design build firm operating through the US in building, transportation and water sectors.

This HSE manager will work on a large 8+ year multi-billion dollar project supporting the infrastructure in Cincinnati supporting their bridges, roadways, ramps, and rivers. This manager will provide leadership and guidance to assigned project in the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental (EHS) processes. The HSE Manager will work on projects of greater complexity and have overall responsibility for process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Works directly with the Project Manager and the management team to develop and implement an effective site‑specific EHS plan, while adhering to all corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs and processes.
  • Assists Project Managers and EHS Managers/Specialists in coordinating subcontractor EHS protocols, including vendors and owner personnel working on company project(s). Coordinates project EHS programs with subcontractors and assists in planning and coordinating work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks, and aggressively manage losses involving injuries or property damages.
  • Coordinates quarterly comprehensive on‑site EHS audits; periodically inspects and evaluates the project site, equipment and processes for compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations, as well as company and owner policies and procedures.
  • Conducts accident investigations and completes incident reporting for Project Management review.
  • Accompanies injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation, ensuring all EHS protocols are followed.
  • Manages the Company’s Drug‑Free Workplace Policy, ensuring proper testing for Pre‑Employment, Vehicle Authorization, Reasonable Suspicion, Post‑Accident, Random, and Follow‑Up.
  • Provides training and education to Company personnel regarding EHS requirements, including coordination of new hire EHS orientation programs.
  • Administers the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.
  • Completes and provides a weekly EHS update to EHS Leadership.
