Job Description Summary
Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Roles and Responsibilities- Own the problem‑solving processes for the area of responsibility, lead continuous improvement projects to improve the process in the area, and serve as a Lead Process Engineer for AEO Production Assembly to enable safe, high‑quality, and on‑time delivery for LM2500, LM6000, CF6, and LMS
100 programs. - Work closely with the area supervisors and workforce to reduce the amount of time it takes to complete the various sub‑assemblies on time when customers need them.
- Carry out daily Root‑Cause, Corrective‑Action (RCCA) and deliver changes that equate to impactful results in accordance with GE Aerospace’s Lean framework, FLIGHT DECK.
- Demonstrate the ability to work tactically on the shop floor daily, evaluating and dispositioning suspected non‑conformances, and coordinating with various cross‑functional teams to conduct root‑cause corrective action (RCCA).
- Prepared to carry out and assume responsibilities on various strategic objectives when delegated by the Process Engineering Team Leader.
- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
- Develop in‑depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In‑depth understanding of key business drivers; use this understanding to accomplish own work. In‑depth understanding of how the work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Use some level of judgment and have ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on‑the‑job training to solve straightforward tasks. Have access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Established project management skills.
- Root cause analysis experience
