Our client, a leading organization in manufacturing, is seeking an Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist to join their team. As an Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist, you will be part of the EHSS department supporting plant-wide safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Specialist

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

What's the Job?
  • Support and lead environmental and sustainability compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure chemical review processes meet compliance requirements.
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting related to energy, water, waste, and greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Assist in ISO 14001 and Eco Vadis certification activities, including audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and assessments to verify compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, OHSAS/ISO 45001, Eco Vadis, OSHA VPP, or similar certification programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data reporting tools, with excellent organizational skills.
