Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical Designer at S2 Systems, Inc. is primarily focused on the production and maintenance of 3D CAD models and associated 2D drawings for the purpose of purchasing, assembly/fabrication, and quality.

In this role you will work directly with other team members to maintain company key performance indicators including, but not limited to customer satisfaction, on time delivery, and profitability.

• Utilizing CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.) to create 3D models, 2D drawings, electrical schematics, and other assets pertinent to product needs.
• Facilitating bills of materials and quality flow-down requirements via drawings.
• Creating and managing part files and their associated properties within our CAD library.
• Complying with the S2 Systems design standards, UL Standards, and NEC Code, as well as developing/maintaining program standards and specifications.
• Collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Production, and other teammates to execute product tasks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• A BS in mechanical or industrial engineering is preferred, but not mandatory
• Ability to communicate clearly with other teams effectively and efficiently
• Demonstrated proficiency in 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor

• Firm knowledge of Autodesk Inventor software
• 2 years of 3D CAD experience with no formal education
• Experience with power distribution and controls equipment and sheet metal fabrication is preferred, but not required
• Propensity for technical aptitude. Experience with or knowledge base in electrical equipment will be seen favorably
• Skilled in translating complex 2D technical drawings into detailed, functional 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
• Preference will be given to candidates with either electrical equipment or sheet metal experience
• Diligent and responsive to change, with the ability to efficiently implement these changes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year DOE
