As a Maintenance and Continuous Improvement COOP
, you will join a team of maintenance team members to support predictive program design, testing, and documentation while gaining practical, real‑world experience in mechanical and manufacturing processes.
- Modeling & Drafting:
Create, edit, and maintain technical drawings for components and assemblies using software. - Prototyping & Testing:
Assist in the assembly, testing, and debugging of mechanical prototypes and systems in a manufacturing environment. - Analysis & Documentation:
Perform basic engineering calculations (stress, thermal, fluids) and assist in documenting test results, specifications, and project reports. Build engineering standard processes and procedures and implement maintenance and engineering best practices in the facilities computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). - Collaboration:
Work with cross‑functional teams, including electrical, mechanical and manufacturing professionals ensuring seamless component integration. - Process Improvement:
Assist in investigating and implementing improvements to maintenance manufacturing processes, i.e. Preventative & Predictive Maintenance Programs.
- Rising Junior to rising Senior Level progressing towards a bachelor's degree in engineering: mechanical, electrical, or industrial.
- Mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology programs, preferred.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is required.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Prior experience with diagnostics equipment (i.e. oil analysis, vibration analysis, ultrasonic, and thermographic analysis) or hands‑on prototyping is a plus.
- Applicants must be 18 years or older in compliance with food manufacturing regulations.
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
- Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must have slip‑resistant and steal or composite toed shoes (Voucher Provided).
- Gain experience with industry‑standard maintenance and continuous improvement practices and tools.
- Develop troubleshooting techniques and engineering problem‑solving skills.
- Build professional networking relationships within the industry.
