Machining Engineer - MasterCAM

Overview

CNC Programmer/Machining Engineer — Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

• Develop CNC programs for milling and turning machines using blueprints, sketches, and models. Collaborate with operators to select cutting tools, optimize programs, and ensure efficient machine setup and operation.
• Create CNC programs using CAM software (Master
  
  CAM® or NX®), with proficiency in either acceptable;
  Master
  
  CAM is sufficient, while NX is preferred for complex parts.
• Verify post-processed programs for accuracy and compatibility with specific machine tools, primarily Fanuc-controlled VTLs and lathes.
• Troubleshoot design, equipment, and operational issues with engineering and plant teams.
• Design or identify work holding devices, leveraging Solid Works® or NX® CAD software for modeling (Master
  
  CAM CAD is inadequate for this).
• Collaborate with process engineers to refine process plans and enhance efficiency.

Controlled office and shop setting; requires PPE (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection as needed). Weekends may be required for specific projects.

• Requirements
• Education:
  
  Technical degree in Engineering or equivalent, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 5 years programming with Master
  
  CAM® or NX® CAM software.
• Skills:
• Proficient in cutting tool selection and application.
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled with precision measuring tools and Microsoft Office®.
• CAD proficiency in Solid Works® or NX® for modeling (required due to limitations of Master
  
  CAM CAD).
• Physical Demands:
  Involves sitting, standing, and walking.

  Compliance with statutory and regulatory standards; background, credit, and drug testing required pre- and post-hire.
