Position OverviewCMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Plumbing Engineer with 3+ years of experience in plumbing design and engineering. This person will work closely with our plumbing engineering team on energy‑efficient projects for various clients. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a technical background who thrives on resolving challenges, assisting clients, and being involved in all phases of a project.
This is an onsite position located in our Cincinnati office.
- Layout and design for plumbing in construction projects
- Performing flow tests and engineering calculations
- Determine preliminary fire/domestic water requirements for various building types
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
- Reviewing and marking up others drawings
- Generating electronic responses to questions and reviews
- Attending meetings with owners, clients, and architects
- Providing guidance and mentoring to staff engineers on appropriate design
- Reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings to determine conformance with contract documents and applicable codes
- Evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and calculations to perform equipment research, piping layout, and pipe sizing
- Conferencing with other engineers and personnel to implement operating procedures; resolve system deficiencies and provide technical information
- Researching and analyzing client design proposal specifications, manuals, and other criteria to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements
- Specifying system components or directing modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance
- Developing client relations through feedback to design engineers on customer concerns and needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering required
- 3+ years of plumbing design experience
- Strong experience with MEP design and HVAC systems
- Proficiency in Revit
- Experience in project management and direct client interactions
