Director of Specialty Manufacturing

trak group is partnering with a historic specialty manufacturing company in Cincinnati to identify a Director of Specialty Manufacturing. This organization designs and fabricates custom, one-of-a-kind mechanical and electrical systems for unique architectural installations across the United States.

This is a rare opportunity to lead specialty manufacturing operations where every project is custom-engineered, highly technical, and built to last for generations. You'll collaborate directly with executive leadership, engineering, and production teams to bring complex solutions to life. • Review and clarify scope for new replacement or renovation equipment orders
• Evaluate sales orders, job specifications, historical data, and site photos to determine field survey needs
• Review and approve completed field surveys to identify materials and fabrication requirements
• Collaborate with design engineering to define scope and layout of CAD drawings for mechanical systems
• Partner with electrical engineering to determine design specifics for electrical risers and control systems
• Review, revise, and approve all CAD drawings for both mechanical and electrical equipment
• Support production managers and shop personnel by resolving fabrication issues
• Work with project management to understand installation requirements and sequencing
• Support field service teams and customers by resolving installation challenges or technical issues

• Minimum 10 years in manufacturing with progressive leadership in project engineering, design, or custom fabrication
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, tools, and fabrication methods
• Ability to think creatively and develop solutions for highly unique, custom products
• Proficiency reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical CAD drawings
• Experience using ERP systems
• Self-starter who learns quickly and thrives in a unique, niche industry
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, field service, and executive teams

• Experience in historic renovation or restoration projects
• Global Shop ERP experience
