Field/Service Technician, Operations Manager

We’re looking for a hands‑on Field Service Supervisor who thrives at the intersection of people, technology, and problem‑solving. In this role, you’ll lead a team of skilled field technicians, ensure successful equipment installations and startups, and serve as a key technical resource for both customers and internal teams.

What You’ll DoAs a Field Service Supervisor, you’ll play a critical role in delivering exceptional service and flawless equipment performance. Your responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise field service technicians during machine installation and startup at customer sites
- Schedule and coordinate technician travel for installations, startups, warranty work, and service calls
- Provide hands‑on support and troubleshooting assistance for warranty and repair issues
- Review in‑house production jobs to proactively identify and resolve potential field service challenges
- Train technicians, new hires, temporary employees, and customers on machine operation and best practices
- Review, approve, and post field service reports
- Partner closely with the Technical Service Manager on projects and priorities
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and company success
- Directly supervise Field Service Technicians
- Support onboarding and technical training for new and temporary team members
- Serve as a technical mentor and problem‑solver in the field and in the shop
- Strong ability to present technical information clearly—both verbally and in writing—to employees, customers, and suppliers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
- College degree in Electrical Engineering and/or
- 2–3 years of hands‑on technical experience in manufacturing automation, material handling, and/or machine control
- Solid understanding of product components and programming at the machine level
- Confident communicator across departments and with external partners
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify process issues and implement effective solutions
- Comfortable with college‑level mathematics
- Ability to calculate percentages and perform advanced mathematical procedures
- Active participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations is encouraged
Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods on concrete floors
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and crawling as needed
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; heavier loads with lifting devices
- Work in a traditional shop environment with seasonal temperature variations, loud noise, and occasional exposure to fumes or odors
- Approximately 10–20% travel throughout North America for machine startups, commissioning, and warranty support
- Occasional international travel required
