As a Hardware Engineer at L3

Harris you will be responsible for architecture, design and development of next‑generation Electronic Safe and Arm Devices utilizing state‑of‑the‑art technologies. The role focuses on Verilog FPGA design, System Verilog UVM verification, and C#‑based microcontroller development for DOD weapon systems.

• Analyze requirements, define architecture, design, and debug FPGA and associated hardware products and firmware.
• Develop Verilog HDL targeting Antifuse and enhanced Flash FPGAs.
• Perform functional issue analysis or performance profiling with hardware and firmware in test environments or target host systems.
• Contribute to process improvements ensuring hardware‑firmware quality and time‑to‑market.

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a minimum of 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Verilog for logic design.
• Programming experience in C for embedded systems, including algorithm development, data‑structure manipulation, and optimized code implementation.
• Hands‑on experience with lab tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG/ICE debuggers, and protocol analyzers.
• Familiarity with hardware, software, and firmware development methodologies (design verification, code reviews, unit testing, prototyping, product testing).
• Experience with code version control repositories (Subversion, GIT, or TFS).
• Understanding of digital design practices, logic design and architecture, and experience with HDL languages such as Verilog and VHDL.

• Knowledge of System Verilog for verification with AVM, VMM, OVM, or UVM.
• Experience developing C# source code targeting enhanced Flash microcontrollers.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Action‑oriented and organized.
• Ability to handle short‑notice needs or requests.

In compliance with pay‑transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $106,500 – $197,500. The salary range in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York State, Cleveland, Ohio, and Vermont is $92,500 – $171,500.
