Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – $100,000 - $120,000 per year, profit sharing & growth opportunity.

A growing custom machinery manufacturer seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of automation equipment and specialized metalworking machinery.

• Design custom automation systems and specialized metalworking machinery
• Develop machine layouts, assemblies, and detailed mechanical designs
• Modify and improve existing equipment designs
• Perform engineering calculations including loads, torque analysis, and design validation
• Support quoting, project management, and customer communication efforts
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and assembly teams throughout machine builds
• Provide technical sales and application support when needed

• Minimum 10 years of Solid Works design experience
• Strong background in mechanical machine design
• Experience designing equipment within a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of CNC lathes, mills, machining centers, or metalworking equipment is highly preferred
• Ability to develop creative engineering solutions and troubleshoot complex mechanical systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical calculations and design integrity principles
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
