Position Overview
As a Trimble Operator, you will specialize in performing accurate on‑site layout and verification for HVAC and plumbing systems (excluding sprinkler systems), using Trimble hardware. You will support layout and measurement tasks using CAD tools and as‑built documentation to ensure installations align with design specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed layout and stake‑out for HVAC and plumbing systems using Trimble equipment (Robotic Total Station, Trimble Total Station).
- Conduct periodic as‑built surveys and field verification for MEP systems (excluding sprinkler systems).
- Convert and integrate site measurements with CAD software (AutoCAD) to produce accurate field drawings.
- Maintain and calibrate Trimble devices; ensure proper data logging and validation.
- Coordinate closely with MEP team members and site supervisors to address layout discrepancies and design conflicts.
- Provide well‑organized field documentation, annotated sketches, point tables, and CAD‑based drawings for accurate stakeholder communication.
- Previous experience as a Trimble Operator, Construction Surveyor, or similar role in MEP sectors.
- Proficiency with Trimble hardware (Robotic/Total Stations) and data management.
- Excellent ability to interpret and work from building plans and mechanical/electrical/plumbing drawings.
- High attention to detail, ensuring precision in measurements and layout.
- Strong communication and team collaboration capabilities.
- Certifications in industry‑specific CAD or surveying credentials are a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around construction sites for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work in varying physical positions including bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders as needed.
- Visual acuity to read plans, measurements, and operate precision instruments.
- Ability to safely operate equipment in active construction environments.
- Primarily field‑based role on active construction job sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, including in unfinished buildings and uneven terrain.
- Exposure to typical construction site conditions such as noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
- Requires adherence to all safety regulations and use of PPE.
- Occasional office or trailer‑based work for CAD updates and documentation.
- Hourly rate: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour.
- Company vehicle with gas card provided.
- License required: yes.
