Harris Fuzing & Ordnance Systems (FOS) designs ruggedized electronics for a variety of military fuzing and ordnance systems. Our staff has led or supported the development, design, qualification, and manufacture of numerous Electronic and Electro-Mechanical fuzing devices for large defense contractors and direct government customers. The role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating in a team structure as well as working independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications
- Circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and Spice tools
- Generate test plans and test reports related to product performance
- Perform test activities in all phases of product development cycle
- Assist in failure investigations using structured tools (8D, Fishbone, Cause & Effect, etc.)
- Multi-task across several projects simultaneously
- Travel, 5%, locations vary
- Ablility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or CompE and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with analog and digital components: op amps, logic gates, regulation circuits, data converters, filters
- Proficient in using lab equipment: oscilloscopes, function generators, meters
- Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools: LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink
- Experience in design reviews and technical documentation
- Basic knowledge of schematic capture tools:
Altium, PADS - Experience with power supply design and power conversion: AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC
- Familiarity with serial communication buses: UART, SPI, I2C
- Basic understanding of sensors: temperature sensors, MEMs accelerometers
- Understanding of design best practices: EMI suppression, ESD protection
- Proficient with lab equipment and modeling tools
- Ability to lead technical projects
- Experience in engineering change processes and regulated environments
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis
