Mechanical Project Engineer – Cincinnati, OH
A fast-growing automated equipment and coating systems manufacturer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support custom finishing system projects.
Responsibilities- Manage projects from order intake through installation and acceptance
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers, engineering, purchasing, and field service teams
- Plan and track schedules, budgets, milestones, and documentation
- Coordinate sub-suppliers (ovens, washers, conveyors, fans, auxiliary equipment)
- Support onsite and remote installation activities
- Review and approve mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
- Assist with design of brackets, fixtures, safety fences, and robot stands
- Lead project review meetings and coordinate resources
- Maintain clear communication with customers
- Identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities
- Create system manuals and technical documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related technical field)
- 3–7 years’ experience in technical project management or mechanical engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical/automation systems
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Experience with purchasing and vendor management
- Proficiency with MS Office and Solid Works
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
