Quality Engineer I

The Quality Engineer I is a key member of the Quality team and will help drive strong quality systems with high effectiveness. The Engineer I will work closely with customers to resolve issues that help save money.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and collaborate on customer issues.
  • Utilize root cause analysis tools to identify possible causes of issues and propose solutions.
  • Support quality standards (ISO 9001, AS9100D, ISO 17025, etc.) through participation in documentation, audits, and calibration activities.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Participate in teams and projects site-wide to drive efficiency and yield improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (required).
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in a metals or materials production environment.
  • General knowledge of systematic quality management systems (required).
  • ETQ experience (required).
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (required).
  • Effective communicator with customers and employees (required).
  • Ability to train others (required).
  • Solution‑oriented, analytical, and problem‑solving skills (required).
  • Proficiency in English (required).
  • Preferred:
    Ability to travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls; talk or hear. Occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds. Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Work Environment

The employee must wear appropriate PPE. Exposure to low concentrations of fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals is within regulatory limits. Noise level is usually low. May require 25‑50% travel within the first six months.

Citizenship

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder).

Location

Elmore, OH (on-site, 5 days per week)
