Job Overview
As a Process Engineer, you will leverage engineering expertise to enhance operational performance through technology, systems, and process improvements. Performance metrics include safety, environmental control, productivity, quality, equipment reliability, and cost efficiency, primarily in batch operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Data Monitoring and Analysis
- Analyze key in-process and lab data to reduce variation in product quality, output, process parameters, batch cycle times, and mitigate risks related to safety, utility consumption, chemical exposure, emissions, and material waste.
- Process Improvement
- Identify and lead initiatives to enhance process efficiency, capacity, reliability, safety, and environmental impact.
- Production Support
- Assist in day-to-day production activities, troubleshooting both on the floor and data tracking, and process changeovers.
- Change Management
- Oversee the Management of Change (MoC) process for facility and processing changes.
- Maintenance Activities
- Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring optimal operation of equipment.
- Training and Development
- Provide training and support for production team personnel.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Safety, and Quality teams to establish and share best practices.
- Technical Support
- Support construction, commissioning, and startup of projects related to infrastructure and product/process development.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure activities comply with ISO
9001:2015, Responsible Care, and other regulatory standards.
- Ensure activities comply with ISO
- Project Management
- Assist in managing projects and production-related activities to drive reliability and cost improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (preferred) or other engineering discipline is required
- Minimum of two years of chemical manufacturing experience or two-five years of co-op experience
- Ability to use various software applications essential to technical performance
- Demonstrate written, verbal, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity and experience in using process improvement methodologies - Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Manufacturing, etc.
At times, you will be exposed to cold or hot, dusty and noisy surroundings.
