Job Overview
Air Quality Senior Project Manager/Principal – Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), Cincinnati, OH. Lead air permitting and regulatory compliance programs for private‑sector clients with complex technical/regulatory issues in manufacturing, oil & gas, power, solid waste, and mining. Support public sector clients in reviewing permit applications and compiling greenhouse gas inventories. Build strong client relationships, develop permitting and compliance strategies to maintain operating flexibility, identify new business opportunities, represent the company at conferences, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities- Lead air permitting and regulatory compliance programs for private‑sector clients.
- Support public sector clients in reviewing permit applications and compiling greenhouse gas inventories.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their processes and develop permitting and compliance strategies.
- Identify and develop new air quality business with existing clients to generate repeat business.
- Represent the company at conferences and in meetings to resolve project issues, plan and coordinate work, and negotiate contracts.
- Collaborate with CEC air quality practice members across the country to develop opportunities, build business relationships, and apply best practices.
- Mentor junior and mid‑level staff in planning, execution of air quality projects, and technical reviews of client deliverables.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering (chemical or environmental), environmental science, or related degree.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in air quality/compliance.
- Consulting or industry experience working with NSR Construction Permitting, Title V, Federally Enforceable State‑Only Operating Permits, and Federal and State air regulations.
- Established relationships with air pollution control agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, strategic thinking, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Effective management of complex air quality projects.
- Proven experience in mentoring and leading staff.
