Valco Melton, a world leader in adhesive application and quality assurance systems, is offering employment for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer on the Mechanical Engineering team (Hot Melt) at our world headquarters in Cincinnati.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design of adhesive dispensing systems and product extensions, including associated test fixtures and other manufacturing documentation aids. The Engineer will be directly involved with the entire build process, collaborating with personnel at our manufacturing facility to address a wide array of challenges. The Engineer will also modify and customize existing designs for special applications and will become familiar with applications related to applying adhesive in the packaging and paper converting industries.

this is an in-person role that will work 100% from the Valco Melton headquarters in Cincinnati.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Design new mechanical parts related to existing product line.
  • Develop test fixtures and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of products in applications research to enhance the company’s ability to grow in new markets.
  • Explore cost reduction methods in low- to medium-volume manufacturing of parts.
  • Understand a wide variety of adhesive application situations in order to customize brackets, valves, hoses, pumps and other peripherals for integration into customer production lines.
  • Work with Sales team to troubleshoot new applications.
  • Participate in lab testing of new adhesives and new products.
  • Visit customer sites to work with equipment in the field and collaborate with customer personnel.
Required/Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or MET (completed by the end of May 2026).
  • 2 co-op/internship rotations in a relevant position.
  • Familiarity with materials capabilities and properties.
  • Understanding of geometric tolerancing.
  • Conversational proficiency in Spanish (preferred).
  • Experience with machining and other metal and plastic fabrication techniques (preferred).
