Experience: Senior Level

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year

• Design custom automation systems and specialized metalworking machinery
• Develop machine layouts, assemblies, and detailed mechanical designs
• Modify and improve existing equipment designs
• Perform engineering calculations including loads, torque analysis, and design validation
• Support quoting, project management, and customer communication efforts
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and assembly teams throughout machine builds
• Provide technical sales and application support when needed

• Minimum 10 years of Solid Works design experience
• Strong background in mechanical machine design
• Experience designing equipment within a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of CNC lathes, mills, machining centers, or metalworking equipment is highly preferred
• Ability to develop creative engineering solutions and troubleshoot complex mechanical systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical calculations and design integrity principles
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

A growing custom machinery manufacturer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of automation equipment and specialized metalworking machinery. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on designing complete machine systems, improving existing equipment, and supporting projects from concept through build and testing. This opportunity offers a highly collaborative environment where engineering, manufacturing, assembly, programming, and testing are all completed in‑house.

Engineers have the ability to see their designs come to life on the production floor while working on a wide variety of custom automation and CNC‑related projects.
