Salary: $23.00–$51.50 per hour (based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience).
Term: 8/24/2026 – 12/11/2026. Rotations typically 12 weeks; multiple rotations desired.
Responsibilities- Contribute to teams developing electrical and electromechanical surgical instruments, surgical robotics, electronic operating room equipment, or data acquisition, analysis, and visualization systems.
- Use state‑of‑the‑art tools to perform testing, experimentation, and validation to support product design.
- Support team members in design, experimentation, data acquisition and analysis, troubleshooting, assembly, and fabrication of prototypes and equipment.
- Gain experience in concept generation, circuit design, firmware and software development, PCB design and fabrication, system prototyping, hardware and software testing and debugging, and technical documentation.
- Assist in laboratory testing, interpret data results, and recommend next steps.
The program consists of 12‑week rotations. Availability for multiple rotations is desired. Students will normally return to school each term.

- Enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Second year of study or higher at the start of the term, with a graduation date after December 2026.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Authorized to work in the United States for the entire duration of the co‑op term (8/24/2026 – 12/11/2026).
- Demonstrated leadership or participation in campus programs or community service activities.
- Interest in the medical device industry.
- Analog hardware design and analysis.
- Embedded systems (microcontrollers, Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
- Circuit board and/or system troubleshooting.
- Measurement using typical electrical laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, digital multimeter, etc.).
- MATLAB, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.
- Statistical analysis and/or design of experiments (Minitab, Weibull/Reliasoft, SAS, R).
- Designing product components and subsystems; familiarity with manufacturing processes and related design requirements and constraints.
- Schematic capture and PCB design/fabrication using Altium, Cadence, KiCAD, etc.
- Circuit simulation (LTSpice or other SPICE software).
- Embedded systems programming in C/C++, VHDL, Verilog, and peripheral interfaces (Ethernet, USB, I²C, SPI).
- Test automation and data post‑processing via LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python.
- Previous experience in the medical device industry (preferred).
