Job Description & How to Apply Below
** Controls Engineer – Building Automation & Tridium Niagara
*** Cincinnati, OH
* Comfort Systems USA Ohio is expanding our
** Building Automation & Controls Team in Cincinnati**, and we're looking for a talented, driven, and solutions-oriented
** Controls Engineer with hands-on Tridium Niagara experience
** to help deliver smarter, more efficient building systems.
* This position is specifically focused on commercial Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, and Tridium Niagara N4—not traditional manufacturing automation, robotics, or PLC-only programming.
* If you have experience working with
** Tridium Niagara, BAS/DDC systems, and commercial HVAC controls
** and are ready to continue growing your technical expertise, this is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced team on a variety of commercial and industrial facilities.

As a Controls Engineer, you'll support the
** design, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC)**.

You'll work with HVAC equipment including air handling units, rooftop units, VAV systems, boilers, chillers, and other mechanical systems while collaborating with project managers, field technicians, contractors, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
** What You'll Do
*** Configure and program Tridium Niagara N4 building automation systems, including points, alarms, trends, schedules, graphics, histories, and integrations
* Develop and program Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for commercial HVAC applications
* Develop control strategies and interpret HVAC sequences of operation
* Assist with system architecture, point lists, control drawings, wiring diagrams, and project submittals
* Integrate HVAC equipment and third-party building systems using BACnet, Modbus, and related communication protocols
* Support BAS startup, commissioning, functional testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization
* Work with commercial HVAC equipment such as RTUs, AHUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, pumps, and related mechanical systems
* Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, contractors, and customers throughout project execution
* Provide technical troubleshooting support and assist with customer or facility staff training
* Maintain accurate project documentation, backups, as-built drawings, programming records, and closeout materials
** What We're Looking For**
* ** Approximately 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara, preferably Niagara N4**
* ** Hands-on experience with commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC) and HVAC controls
*** Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent directly relevant experience
* Experience programming, configuring, commissioning, or troubleshooting BAS/DDC systems
* Solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems and sequences of operation
* Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and building automation communication protocols
* Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
* Experience with chilled water systems, boiler plants, central plant controls, or more complex HVAC sequences is a plus
* Experience integrating lighting, security, access control, energy management, meters, or IP-based building systems is a plus
* Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, Eco Struxure, or other BAS platforms is a plus
* Tridium Niagara N4 certification is preferred but not required
** Who This Role Is Best Suited For
** This role is ideal for someone who has already gained hands-on experience working with Tridium Niagara and commercial HVAC building automation systems and is ready to grow into greater independence in system design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Candidates whose experience is primarily in industrial manufacturing automation, PLC programming, robotics, conveyor systems, or SCADA without commercial BAS/HVAC controls experience may not be the right fit for this particular position.
** Why Join Comfort Systems USA Ohio?
** At Comfort Systems USA Ohio, you'll join a team that values innovation, collaboration, professional growth, and practical problem-solving while working with advanced building technologies.
* Competitive pay based on experience
* Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company contribution
* Paid time off and company holidays
* Ongoing training and development in building automation systems, Niagara N4, HVAC controls, and integrated technologies
* Opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial and industrial facilities
* Exposure to leading technologies from Schneider Electric and Tridium
* If you have hands-on Tridium Niagara and commercial BAS experience and enjoy solving technical problems that improve building performance, we'd love to connect.
