Harris FOS specializes in the design and manufacture of fuzes, ignition safety devices, proximity sensors, GPS navigation systems, aerospace status indicators, and range and test solutions. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, L3
Harris FOS' primary manufacturing facility was specifically designed and constructed for the manufacture of fuzing and ordnance systems and precision electronic components. L3

Our Cincinnati, OH site, is seeking a Senior Specialist, Environmental, Health & Safety, to join our team. In this role, the candidate will use their experience to implement and lead strong environmental, health and safety aspects as they relate to manufacturing.
Essential Functions:
* Work performed under limited supervision.
* Must be experienced in OSHA 1910 General Industry.
* Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments.
* Assists in accident investigations and recommends corrective actions.
* Conduct routine audits and inspections to identify and eliminate non-compliance issues.
* Manage projects related to energetics and safety; including participation in incident investigation, risk management, and process hazard analysis.
* Conduct training and communication campaigns to raise site-wide awareness.
* Serve as interface and liaisons with employees, managers, customers, auditors, and regulators.
* Some travel required
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Safety Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Safety Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Safety Engineering experience.
* Must have an active DOD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Additional
Skills:
* Master's degree preferred.
* 5 years' experience working in an Aerospace manufacturing environment.
* 5 years' experience in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry.
* Experience in OSHA 29 CFR 1926 experience is desired.
* Strong knowledge of standards, OSHA, OSHA PSM, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI including familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local regulations is desired.
* Experience in project management is desired.
* Excellent problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work within a high pressure and fast-paced environment.
* Served as interface and liaisons with employees, manager, customers, auditors, and regulators.
* An ideal candidate would be highly self-motivated and analytical with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-function/cross-site teams are preferred.
* Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
* Read and understand facility site schematics and building design plans.
* Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) 4145.26M is desired.
* Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM).
* Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software such as ArcGIS and Arc Map.
* Knowledgeable in munitions, explosives, and energetic materials, and related disciplines, the effects of munitions, the means of preventing or reducing explosive mishaps, and the relationship between quantity-distance sitting criteria and personnel safety.
* High level of communication skills and an understanding of escalation requirements to higher authorities.
