About the Role

The Senior Chemical Process Engineer plays a key role in driving innovation, efficiency, and reliability within chemical manufacturing operations. This position focuses on improving production performance, optimizing processes, and supporting the development of new products and technologies. Acting as a senior technical resource, the engineer will collaborate across teams to solve complex challenges, enhance plant operations, and ensure consistent product quality.

As a customer-facing position, the role also involves direct interaction with clients—building strong relationships, understanding technical needs, and ensuring satisfaction through effective communication and technical support.

Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process improvements and optimization initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and production efficiency within manufacturing operations.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise and troubleshooting support for existing processes and new product development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure reliable and efficient plant performance.
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison for customers, managing communications, project updates, and process-related needs.
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to resolve process issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Support capital project development and execution to improve plant capability, cost efficiency, and product performance.
Role Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or production environment, preferably involving fluid handling or non-hazardous chemical processing.
  • 4+ years of experience in contract manufacturing, customer management, and customer-facing communication.
  • Proven experience in process design, optimization, and project execution within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies; formal certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in process documentation, flow mapping, and control strategies (PLC/DCS experience desirable).
