In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of low- and medium-voltage electrical power systems supporting manufacturing, food & beverage, chemical, mining, specialty chemical, and other industrial facilities. Projects range from facility expansions and modernizations to new process installations and electrical infrastructure upgrades.

You will work directly with clients, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, provide technical leadership on projects, and mentor developing engineers while helping deliver innovative solutions to complex industrial challenges.

This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, perform advanced power system studies, and lead designs from concept through startup and commissioning.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Electrical power system studies and analysis
  • Switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, and distribution equipment
  • Utility service upgrades and power infrastructure improvements

  • Hazardous location installations
  • EPC and design-build projects
  • Client-facing engineering consulting projects
  • Technical mentorship and project leadership

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical power system design projects for industrial and manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop electrical construction packages including one-line diagrams, power plans, equipment layouts, conduit plans, cable schedules, and installation details.
  • Design low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, including switch gear, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, panel boards, and associated equipment.
  • Perform electrical system analysis including:
    • Arc Flash Studies
    • Short Circuit Studies
    • Protective Device Coordination Studies
    • Load Flow Analysis
    • Power System Modeling
  • Develop technical specifications and equipment procurement packages.
  • Perform electrical equipment sizing and selection.
  • Apply NEC, NFPA, and industry standards to project designs.
  • Coordinate project execution with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Support construction activities, site investigations, commissioning efforts, startup activities, and field troubleshooting.
  • Serve as Lead Electrical Engineer on projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Assist with technical proposals, scope development, budgeting, and project planning activities.
  • Promote Matrix engineering standards, quality expectations, and safety initiatives.

Why Engineers Enjoy This Role:

  • Work on a wide variety of industrial facilities and projects instead of supporting a single plant.
  • Lead projects from concept through startup and commissioning.
  • Influence technical decisions and client solutions.
  • Collaborate with experts in process, mechanical, controls, automation, and facilities engineering.
  • Mentor younger engineers and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.
