Senior Electrical Engineer

Cincinnati, Ohio | Direct Hire, Full-Time, Onsite

An established engineering consulting firm is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for its healthcare practice. This onsite role leads electrical design on healthcare facility projects, providing technical direction, project leadership, and client engagement. The position also supports proposal development and client relationships as part of the firm's business development work.

Full-time, onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio. Up to 25% domestic travel, including occasional visits to active construction sites.

You will design and support power distribution systems for healthcare and commercial building projects, including motor feeders, starters, lighting systems, and building power systems. You will develop designs for specialty electrical systems such as emergency power, generator systems, UPS systems, ground fault protection, and lightning protection.

You will prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents, and perform voltage drop, short-circuit, and arc flash analyses. Design coordination spans mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, and construction teams, with responsibility for ensuring all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

Beyond design, you will build and maintain client relationships throughout project execution, participate in proposal and business development activities, and provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, designers, and other team members.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio, or ability to obtain Ohio licensure through comity
• 10 or more years of electrical engineering experience
• Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities
• Strong knowledge of healthcare design standards, including FGI Guidelines and NFPA 99
• Experience with building power distribution and lighting systems
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD or similar design platforms
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE, IBC, and Life Safety Code
• Supervisory or people-management experience
• Strong project leadership, analytical, and client relationship skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future sponsorship

• PE registration in multiple states
• Experience with healthcare infrastructure projects
• Experience across a range of healthcare facility types (hospitals, outpatient, specialty care)
• Familiarity with arc flash and short-circuit study software
