Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role will support the design and analysis of building structural systems across a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, collaborative communication skills, and hands-on experience with structural analysis and modeling tools.

The Structural Engineer will work closely with internal engineering teams, designers, and clients to develop safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective communication with department team members, leadership, and clients throughout project life cycles.
  • Perform structural system calculations using: hand calculations, computer-aided calculations (spreadsheets, Mathcad), 3D structural modeling and analysis using STAAD Pro.
  • Assist in the development of contract drawings by providing structural design input to structural designers and drafting teams.
  • Support structural design efforts for steel and concrete building systems.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and structural standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in structural engineering design for building systems.
  • Demonstrated experience designing steel and concrete structures across multiple project types.
  • Advanced working proficiency with STAAD Pro.
  • Working knowledge of Revit.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and applicable structural design standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in collaborative, multi-discipline engineering environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
