The Game's Afoot (Holmes for the Holidays) is a comedy thriller set in December 1936. The story revolves around Broadway star William Gillette, who is famous for his role as Sherlock Holmes. Gillette invites his fellow cast members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of Christmas fun and festivities. However, the weekend takes a dark turn when one of the guests is mysteriously stabbed to death.

In this isolated house filled with tricks and mirrors, Gillette must use his Sherlock Holmes persona to track down the killer before another victim appears. The play is filled with non‑stop danger and laughter, making it a thrilling and entertaining experience.
