We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead our accounting department. This pivotal role will oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and delivering accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of financial analysis, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Duties- Review and approve monthly financial statements and reports for accuracy
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Prepare and manage budgets along with providing insights into financial performance
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Implement and maintain accounting software systems to enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data is available for reporting purposes
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role, CPA highly desired
- Demonstrated ability to have a hands-on approach in daily financial activities
- Previous experience in a Non-Profit setting desired but not required
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial forecasting
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools, specifically Quick Books
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on mentoring and team development
- Effective communication skills to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders
