Job Description
Provide commercial loan closing and administrative support to the Commercial Mortgage and Real Estate group and ensure that all deadlines are met, documentation is accurate, and funding occurs as scheduled.
This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE or Cincinnati, OH) and partially from home.
What you do:- Manage the closing process on assigned commercial mortgage loans through collaboration and coordination with internal and external business partners which include but are not limited to the loan producers, internal and external legal counsel, mortgage banking firms, and title companies.
- Perform closing functions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with in-house counsel to resolve certain legal matters and satisfy legal requirements and Federal Home Loan Bank loan pledging requirements.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure all business-related items are completed and documented per requirements in loan commitment, loan documentation and compliant with company policy. Review and approve all required insurance coverages, tax payment status, escrow analysis, and zoning.
- Review and approve closing settlement statements, escrow instructions and other documentation as required. Calculate per diem interest and fees, and confirm the amounts collected are correct.
- Initiate wire requests for loan proceeds and the return of good faith deposits. Coordinate with treasury, title companies and other related parties to ensure the accurate funding of the loans and wires have been sent and received.
- Maintain electronic mortgage loan files. Update the portfolio management system accordingly with loan closing data. Communicate with the Post-Closing team on loan handoff requirements and loan particulars to ensure accurate loan boarding into the portfolio management system.
- Assist in revising policies and procedures, and correspondent guidelines as needed.
- Assist with internal compliance and external compliance audits as needed.
- Assist with system upgrades as needed.
- Assist in special projects as needed.
- Stay current on industry regulations and offer recommendations to implement accordingly.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of experience required. Educational majors including business, real estate, law or related areas are desired.
- 0-2 years of experience in commercial real estate loan servicing, closing, or analysis required.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and utilize significant data to make sound business decisions in a timely manner required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and modern web based applications required.
- Excellent written and oral communication, reasoning, analytical, and time management skills required.
- Ability to operate independently and execute independent judgment required.
